The Dead Artists Gallery presents “L’Agave”

O/Canvas.

Signed L/R Tomas Voullion (French, First Half Twentieth Century)

The impressive use of impasto oil applied by palette knife gives this humble agave depth and power.A good example of the powerful force of Brutalism as found emerging in the European art scene was definitely an influence for this artist.   “Art brut”, from “beton brut” (raw concrete in French) is the term sometimes used to describe this art form. The term was originated by the pioneer modern architect and painter Le Corbusier (1887-1965).

23 X 36 1/2 in original stained wood frame, circa 1920

$650
