Signed and Dated L/R “M. A. (Marco Antonio) Gomez (1910-1972) ’39”
Born in Durango, Mexico to a portraitist father, Gomez migrated to Arizona in 1918. He studied in Los Angeles at the Chouinard School of Art and at the Art Center School. Gomez was especially sympathetic toward and became famous for his portrayal of Native Americans.
