The Dead Artists Gallery presents “Marigolds en Chancay”

O/Canvas

Signed and dated L/R “Elk (Elka McDonald), ’82” Painting also bears partial Lima, Peru gallery label

This colorful painting by McDonald was done in the Peruvian district of Chancay. McDonald was known for her intensely colored impressionistic landscapes. Chancay is a staging point for tourism into and out of Lima, Peru and is named after the pre-Columbian indigenous community who inhabited the coastal region of Peru. Loose brushwork and vibrant colors make this centerpiece of a painting especially compelling when approached from a distance, as the marigolds disintegrate the closer the viewer stands.

 40″ x 29″ in original frame

$650
