“Sunday Morning, Rockport”. Oil on canvas, signed and dated L/R “Charles Stepule, ‘53”(1911-2006). Known for his coastal and harbor scenes, especially those of Gloucester and Rockport, Stepule was a long time resident of Hartford ,Connecticut. He studied at the Connecticut League of Art Students , the New York Art Student’s League ,and in various studios throughout England, France, Spain and Italy. Serving in the US Army during World War II, he returned to Hartford to teach at the East Hartford art league , spending much time in Rockport.
