130 years ago an English plein air artist was so impressed with this view of Long Mynd, Shropshire, he decided to paint a panorama. With the meandering brook in the foreground, the cattle grazing contentedly in the middle ground and the late spring mountains retaining a dusting of winter’s snow in the distance, he succeeded!John J. Waller

produced an epic ( 36 x 56! in period frame) rendition for his effort. One can’t but wonder how long he stood in that field doing so….

$2800.
