This painting of a maternal figure holding her child is reminiscent of stain glass windows. The verso of this piece bears a label indicating it traveled through the Municipal Art Festival, Los Angeles. The very light, pastel colors are created by thinning paint to disperse its pigment to such a degree that the opacity is reduced. Thinned paint of this sort can be thickened without affecting its opacity using a polyvinyl additive, thus the possibilities for paint thickness, hue and opacity are unlimited in the acrylic media.
