Oil on Canvas, signed and dated L/R on cast-iron fence “1983, Alberto Marano” (1915-1985)
Marano was an Italian artist who began his career in Florence before the war. His first works were greatly influenced by the French School, especially Utrillo.
Later, he painted in a distinctive Abstract Expressionistic style. Lastly, at the end of his career, he changed to a Hopperesque presentation of cities. This painting was probably done on one of his trips to New York City.
