Adams, a follower of the Florida Highwaymen, although not officially a part of the art group itself, painted in a style similar to them and has been sold alongside the original ” 26″. This example of outsider art eschews the expensive and time consuming process of stretching and stapling canvas onto wooden frames. Instead the canvas is directly glued onto a masonite board, providing the same structural support that stretching would have without the expense and difficulty.
