W/C on paper “Winter’s Wall”, signed “Z.E.Hodgeman”, L/R. I don’t know what it is about a snowy field, shadows, a rock wall and gathering storm clouds that attracts me so. Perhaps it’s because my dad once told me that snow, done right , is the hardest thing to capture with watercolor. Hodgman certainly captured it right! Mid century Pennsylvania plein air artist, he also captures the technique, mood and spirit of his better-known Pennsylvania contemporary watercolorists, the Wyeths.
24 x 30 in original frame circa 1950,, packing shipping and insurance included. Let it snow!
$625
