Totally out of character, but oh so charming! Found in London, but painted in Sweden by the Swedish naturalist Bruno Liljefors (1860-1939), this work is Sweden’s answer to the New World’s John J. Audubon (1785-1851). Painted with the exactness of the hunter and the lover of nature, both artists captured their ssubjets in their every day life without ever being visible themselves. Signed lower right and inscribed “Tjaderlek, 1917,” this painting (oil on heavy cardboard) is presented in its original 24″ x 32″ frame, $1450. Destined for another hunting lodge… somewhere?
