“Imagining Braque” (Georges,1882-1963). Oil, graphite, charcoal and crayon on heavy brown pape and laid down on foam- cord. Totally protected by four layers, Archaic UV film. Created circa 1950-60 in Havana by art student in studies of the 20th century French masters. Like Braque, he employed a constant attempt to discipline emotion, and also develop a love of the curved line which steadily takes hold of objects with successive strokes. Defined by cubism, Braque was the go-to artist to study for the more avant-guard student league of Havana. Purchased from private Miami warehouse in 2020 and presented here in period chamfered mahogany frame 30 x 24, $975.
