The Dead Artists Gallery Presents “Brilliant Lever de Soleil”

“Brilliant Lever de Soleil.” Signed, dated and inscribed (Cyrillic) on verso “Leonty (Flippovich) Chaloi(1921-?),1970.” Artist of the Russian federation, born in the Urals, and graduated from the Russian Academv of Art and Sculpture in Leningrad after studying under Shah and Repin. Assistant Director of the Combine of Fine Art in Leningrad, he joined the Union of Artists for the USSR in 1975 He participated in Moscow AIl-Russian and AII-Union exhibitions. His works are held in many museums and private collections in Russia, Greece, Japan and South Korea. Drawn to the genius of French impressionism, most of his art follows his heart.
Using the palette knife and soft brush strokes, it is easy to see how his pieces fit well in French impressionistic groupings. This one could well be titled.”Blue on Blue” and illustrates one of his best features… The use of primary colors. 18 x 25 in original textured wood frame, $625.
