
Oil on hardboard circa 1920, signed verso “Frank H. Marshall (1866-1945.)” active in California and New York, Marshall studied in Paris at the Académie Julian under Laurens, as well as in Madrid in London. He studied in New York City at the Chase School under Twachtman, Bridgman and Dumond. In 1915 he moved to Carmel, California and painted portraits, seascapes and plein air landscapes.
