The Dead Artists Gallery Presents “Morning Glow”

“Morning Glow.” Oil on canvas by Herbert McRae Miller (1896-1981). Born in Montreal and studied at the Art Students League under John Sloan (1871-1951), the Monument National in Montreal under Edmond Dyonnet, and at the Ecole Des Beau-Arts, Montreal under Alfred Lailberthe. Miller’s glazing technique, which he learned from John Sloan, qualifies his landscapes for luminism. Signed and dated lower right “1950” and bearing artist signature plaque on original frame 20 x 26, $850.
