The Dead Artists Gallery Presents “The Thames from Whitchurch Bridge”

The Thames from Whitchurch Bridge

Oil on canvas. Signed and inscribed L/L “Richard Elmore, 1882” (flourished from 1852-1892).

Sir Richard Elmore exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Society of British Artists and is represented in the Cardiff Museum’s permanent collection. This finely framed example depicts the adolescent tradition of punting in the river. Punts, small boats, require no license to drive and were a common interwar mode of transportation.

27″x37″ in period gilt frame
