 This rare abstract landscape by Sfax, a French twentieth century artist more commonly known for his geometric abstraction. By washing neutral tones over each other, paired with the layering of gold leaf, Sfax creates an ambiguous visual depth. This ambiguity makes the subject matter, Venice, difficult to identify readily.
