Born in Alabama, Stevenson trained at the Alabama Conservatory of Art and Music, and later at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. A magazine illustrator, she also was known for floral still-lifes; best known ones are in the “Art Moderne” style. Stevenson participated in many solo as well as joint exhibitions, was the recipient of many awards, and is found in many collections.
