This charming view of the Allentown factory group from the Hamilton Street Bridge was painted 1929-30.The Industrial Revolution swept the nations of the world into an enormous competition from which there could be no retreat, and which continues today. Many artists of the 20th. century captured this change and energy on canvas, and Ayn Rand(1905-1982)with her seven principles of “Objectivism” (Rationality, Independence, Integrity,Honesty, Justice, Productiveness, and Pride) captured it in a novel way with “Atlas Shrugged.”
