Signed L/L A.Boyles
Fresh off the boat from London… Wonderful foray into English Impression, an oil on artistboard circa 1920–30, by George A.Boyles (1842-1939.) A pioneer of the English Impressionist School, Boyles technique was very similar to that of the French Barbizon painters, and for that reason he is often referred to as the” English Corot”(JeanBaptiste-Camille, 1796-1875.) Boyles exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Society of Oil Painters. Presented in a Bruges museum frame 23 x 26(an altogether fortuitous marriage!),
$1250.
