The Dead Artists Gallery presents “Matin Les Ombres”

Oil on canvas. Signed L/R “Henri J. Pauwels” (Henri Josef, 1903-1983). This Belgian artist was known for his paintings of small cities and landscapes throughout Western and Central Europe. The berg, or steep cobbled hills which typify the region, is the subject of this charming landscape. The articulation of the clouds is reminiscent of Constable’s famous cloud studies.
